Originally from the Midlands, Degna Stone is a poet and editor based in North East England. She is a co-founder and former Managing Editor of Butcher’s Dog poetry magazine, a contributing Editor at The Rialto and is currently a pamphlet selector for The Poetry Book Society. She spent 12 years working in the Literary Department at Live Theatre, Newcastle before going Freelance in 2017. She now works with Eclipse Theatre on their ambitious programme Slate: Black · Arts · World; supporting thousands of independent, Black artists across the north of England by increasing access to local, national and international networks. Degna received a Northern Writers Award in 2015, holds an MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University and is a fellow of The Complete Works III. She has been a member of the New Writing North Board since 2018.
