Newcastle Young Writers’ Group

Where?

Room 8 (Level 6), Newcastle City Library, NE1 8AX

When?

Saturdays, 11am-1pm

Who is it for?

Young people aged 12-19. No writing experience necessary. Everyone is welcome.

Newcastle Young Writers’ Group is an extremely inclusive and welcoming group. Led by Group Leader Zoe Murtagh, the group has worked with a ton of different writers and had creative writing masterclasses exploring stand-up comedy, scriptwriting, zine-making and dark fiction.

The group has most recently worked with animator Sheryl Jenkins, on a three-day animation Summer School where they looked at different techniques exploring visual narratives. This group meets at Newcastle City Library and because of it’s City Centre location – less than a five minute walk from Monument Metro station – is super easy to travel to for young people living across the North East.

Get in touch if you’d like some more info or simply rock-up if you fancy giving it a go! If you are new to our groups, let us know you’re interested using this link.
