Come along to a free poetry reading event from Monitor Books to celebrate Jazmine Linklater’s Snagged on red thread, featuring readings from Jazmine, Jo Clement, and Ilisha Thiru Purcell.
Jazmine Linklater is a poet and writer based in Manchester where she is a regional editor for the online art writing platform Corridor8. She has published four poetry chapbooks, including Snagged on red thread (Monitor, 2025) and Figure a Motion (Guillemot Press, 2020). From October 2025 she is undertaking practice-based research in art writing and ekphrastic encounters at Sheffield University.
Jo Clement is a working class Gypsy, Roma and Traveller writer from North East England. She is the recipient of a Northern Writers’ Award. Longlisted for the Michael Murphy Memorial Poetry Prize and shortlisted for the John Pollard International Poetry Prize, Outlandish, is published by Bloodaxe Books (2022).
Ilisha Thiru Purcell is an award-winning Sri Lankan-Scottish poet from Newcastle upon Tyne. Her debut pamphlet What She Said was published in 2025 by Verve Poetry Press and was the 2025 Poetry Book Society Autumn Pamphlet Choice. Ilisha was shortlisted for the James Berry Prize 2024 and was a Poet in Residence at the 2025 StAnza Poetry Festival, winning the Futurist Award. Her work has been widely published and appears in publications such as Bi+ Lines Anthology, Butcher’s Dog, and Under the Radar.
