Summer Songwriting Sessions: Newcastle

Tuesday 9 – Thursday 11 August, 12pm-5pm each day

Venue: Recoco, Floor 2, 12:00-15:30

Loft Studios, 15:30-17:00

Open to: ages 12-19

If you would like to have a go at creating your own lyrics or writing your own rap, these are the summer sessions for you! Jennie Brewis, professional songwriter and member of The Cornshed Sisters, will be leading the programme with rapper Robin Reza. You’ll learn how to write songs and raps, developing your own lyrics and melodies, and each day you’ll visit a professional recording studio to start bringing your tracks to life!

You don’t need any experience to take part, just bring along your creativity and experiment with words and music in a fun, supportive environment. If you play an instrument, you are welcome to bring that too. We’ll work towards recording our own songs at the end of the week!

During term-time we run a weekly Young Songwriters Group at Loft Studios from 4.30pm-6pm. Our summer programme is a great way to meet other young writers and find out more about our regular young writers’ programmes.
