We are proud to host an online roadshow to launch the Northern Writers’ Awards 2025. Join us online with writers Tawseef Khan, Amelia Loulli and Anna Quirke who will offer insight and advice for emerging writers considering applying for the awards and reflect on their own experiences of winning an award. The session will include a Q&A section where you can pose your questions to the panel.
The Northern Writers’ Awards are the largest writing development programme of their kind in England. They are free to enter, with support, mentoring, placements, publication, and cash awards on offer to new and established writers. Submissions open throughout the year, with awards for poetry, fiction, children’s and YA fiction, narrative non-fiction, short stories and writing for television. They are produced by New Writing North and supported by Northumbria University, Arts Council England, and a range of partners.
The Hachette Children’s Novel Awards open from 22 October 2024 – 31 January 2025. The flagship Northern Writers’ Awards open from 26 November 2025 – 6 February 2025, with a wide range of awards available. Find out more.
