Workshop: Writing for Middle Grade with Ashley Thorpe

Aspiring children’s writers are invited to join Ashley Thorpe, author of the middle grade fantasy adventure The Boy to Beat the Gods, for a creative writing workshop that explores how stories of old have continually evolved to make the new. 

Learn about how Ashley took inspiration from the incredible pantheon of Yoruba deities – the Orishas – to write his story and explore how you can make use of any tales and conventions of old to craft something that is uniquely yours. 

Participants should bring paper and pens.
