Young Writers’ Talent Fund opens for applications

The Young Writers’ Talent Fund is New Writing North Young Writers’ talent development programme. The fund seeks to support emerging and talented young writers aged 16-25 living in the North East. It is now open for applications until Thursday 30 June 2022.
What does the Talent Fund offer?
The Young Writers’ Talent Fund provides development opportunities for young creatives working across a range of writing forms and aims to make connections between aspiring writers and producers, and industry professionals.
Through the Talent Fund, we can offer individuals bespoke support, investment, mentoring and training opportunities.
You might be looking for direct funding, for example to put on a show or to print a zine. Alternatively, you might apply to the Talent Fund because you are looking for more experience or support in an artform, in which case we would work with you to put together a plan for how funding might be spent.
How do I apply?
Everyone aged 16-25 who lives in the North East of England is welcome to apply. We are hoping to hear from people who would like support to develop their craft as writers or producers of creative work.
We’ll ask you to tell us about the kind of writing you are interested in and to submit a sample of your writing.
We also want to know how you think the Talent Fund could help you. For example, tell us if you have a specific project, course or equipment you would like to fund.

What kind of writers and projects have you funded in the past?
The Talent Fund has supported writers and producers across a range of different writing disciplines including spoken word, poetry, prose, graphic novels, zines, script and game design (to name a few!).
