Roxy Mckenna

Roxy joined New Writing North in April 2026 as Senior Programme Manager (Screen), having previously worked freelance as a Development Producer delivering a new programme of screenwriting activity at New Writing North.

She leads on a range of screen development projects including the Screenwriting Weekender, ADAPT, Screenwriting Labs, TV Pilot Scratch Events and a slate of original Film and TV scripts with Northern writers.

Roxy has worked as a creative producer and in talent development for the screen sector for over 20 years including roles as Creative Industries Manager for Northern Film & Media and BFI NETWORK Talent Executive for Film Hub North. She holds a MA in Screen Project Development from Screen Academy Scotland
