Call-out for North East writers: Read Them Your Writes
Posted by
We’re looking for writers interested in reading their work at our new literary/culture night in Newcastle, Read Them Your Writes.
Devised by New Writing North’s Creative Associate, Adam Sharp, Read Them Your Writes will be an informal, fun and supportive space for North-East writers at all stages to meet each other and share new work. Each month there will be a different line-up, as well as some open-mic slots up for grabs on the night. Think ‘scratch-night’ meets ‘literary salon’…
Read Them Your Writes will be held at the Tyneside Irish Centre in Newcastle on the third Thursday of the month from January 2023. We are now looking for writers to take part in events between January and March 2023. We are open to writers of all stages of their career and of any discipline (short story, novels, poetry, essays, plays etc.).
How to Submit
By Friday 23 December, please complete this form including:
- 50 words about yourself
- The work you would like to read, to a maximum of ten minutes (the bell will be rung at exactly 10 minutes, and not a second later!)
- The dates you are available to read (19 January, 16 February, 16 March)
There is a £50 fee to cover travel and expenses for each writer selected to read and there will be open (unpaid) slots available on the night.
