Cuckoo Young Writers in the recording studio

In August, a group of Cuckoo Young Writers aged 12-17 began working with professional songwriters Martin Longstaff (AKA The Lake Poets) and Natasha Haws to write lyrics and compose their own tunes.

What began as a summer school became an extended project, as the group continued to meet and write on Saturdays throughout September. Their work culminated in a performance at Auckland Castle and a recording session in the Field Music studios in Sunderland last weekend.
