We’re thrilled to share the programme for Durham Book Festival 2023!

Taking place at Gala Durham, Clayport Library and Collected Books between 13-15 October, the festival offers 35 events with more than 40 authors over a bustling long weekend.

There’s something for everyone, from the history of Durham, to ideas about the future. You’ll find an exciting mix of fiction, politics, poetry, performance, writing workshops, children’s storytimes and much more. Authors appearing include Jeanette Winterson, Grace Dent, Melanie Sykes, Zaffar Kunial, Ruth Ware, Trevor Wood, Chris Mullin, Sebastian Payne, Janina Ramirez, and a world exclusive dramatic live reading of Benjamin Myers’ Cuddy.

Find our full programme online here or download a PDF of our brochure. If you’d prefer a printed brochure, you can pick one up at venues across Durham or request one here.

Durham Book Festival is for everyone and accessibility is really important to us. You can find the access statements of our venues here. In addition:

  • All events at Gala Durham will be live-captioned by Stagetext
  • Can’t make it to Durham? Let the festival come to you. All Gala Durham events will be available to livestream for just £5 per household.

We really hope you can join us!
