Who is it for?

Young people aged 12-19. No writing experience necessary. Everyone is welcome.

Our Cramlington Young Writers’ Group meets weekly in term time at the Concordia Leisure Centre.

A group of friendly, like-minded young writers work with our Group Leader Danielle Burn to explore different genres of creative writing over biscuits and background music.

The group has explored a ton of different writing styles and genres, including crime, fantasy and feminism. In Summer 2018 the group hosted a three day Poetry Summer School, filming their performances for the New Writing North Young Writers’ YouTube. More recently, some of the group performed at a public event for National Poetry Day in collaboration with Poetry Book Society and Nexus Metro.

Although we have some very confident poets and performers in our group, it’s open to everyone, so join us whether you’re ready to share your work or just want to give writing a go in a supportive environment.

Sign up here, or email youngwriters@newwritingnorth.com for more information.
