Faber Publishing Open Day 2025
Event information
Where: Faber's London offices
Date: Friday 21 March
Time: All day
Cost: Free, with a bursary to cover your travel
Type: Young writers
Aged 18-25, live in the North, and interested in working in publishing? See behind the scenes at one of the UK’s great independent publishers on a day trip to the Faber London office.
You’ll find out how a book goes from manuscript to bookshop and learn about pathways into publishing jobs. We’ll be joined by author and pioneering barrister Mónica Feria-Tinta to look at how her new book, A Barrister for the Earth, has been developed with Faber in advance of its publication date in April 2025. In A Barrister for the Earth, Mónica takes us behind the scenes of ten real legal cases arguing for the preservation of the natural world, including the world’s first international climate case, and the first Rights of Nature case. You’ll have the opportunity to meet Mónica and ask your questions about the book and her experience of working towards publication with Faber.
Complete the form below by Friday 24 January to apply. Successful applicants will be notified on 21 February and invited to a virtual meeting with New Writing North at 5pm on Wednesday 5 March. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
