We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help at our festivals and events
Are you an enthusiastic reader looking for experience working events? Or maybe you’re interested in charity volunteering? As a New Writing North volunteer, you’ll gain behind the scenes access to our literary events and join a supportive network. Volunteers will receive training, a welcome pack, and a volunteer t-shirt. Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll be added to a pool of New Writing North volunteers and will be offered opportunities to help at literary events throughout the year.
Applicants must be available for a half day of training on 1 October and a half day shift at Durham Book Festival, 10-13 October. Volunteers will be reimbursed for travel expenses and be allowed free entry to all Durham Book Festival events (subject to available space).
No experience necessary. Thanks to funding from the North East Combined Authority, residents of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland are encouraged to apply.
