Six weeks of 90-minute writing workshops to help you hone your craft or pick up the pen for the first time
Join writer and experienced workshop facilitator Susannah Ronnie to begin or develop a sustainable independent writing practice through six workshops aimed at enabling writing across poetry, prose or scriptwriting. Each 90-minute workshop will be built around a specific theme – such as journeys, clothes, food, music, objects and works of art – and will combine structured exercises with the opportunity for discussion and sharing in a supportive environment.
A limited number of free tickets are available to people for whom the cost is prohibitive. Please contact Margot Miltenberger [email protected]

About the workshop facilitator
Susannah Ronnie is an interdisciplinary writer with a particular interest in imagining and interrogating history. Her poems have been published in magazines, including Poetry Review and Mslexia, and in her pamphlet Digging Up the Dead (Red Squirrel Press, 2014), which explores her maternal grandparents’ WWII experiences. Her full-length poetry collection with out end centres on a seventeenth-century mutiny in the Canadian Arctic and won a Northern Writers’ Award in 2022. Susannah is now adapting this into a novel, with support as a New Writing North Creative Associate, and is also being supported through their Sounds Good Audio Storytelling Programme to develop an audio drama about Victorian spiritualist women.
