New Writing North’s free summer programmes are for young people aged 11-19 to try fun writing projects, meet like-minded people and make something new in a relaxed, friendly and inclusive environment.

Do you love writing haikus? Or do you want to become a master of limericks? Maybe you have a poetic vision in your heart and you’re trying to find the right form. Come and get stuck in to three days full of all things poetry. Working with professional poets, you will get the chance to experiment and play with creative ideas, developing your own poetic style and try new writing techniques.

No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to give it a go and try something new!

Donations

Tickets are free! But if you can, please consider donating to the charity when booking your ticket. With support from people like you, we can help to cover the costs of providing free creative writing programmes for children and young people. These run throughout the year, often in disadvantaged areas where there are fewer opportunities.

We work to help these young people to realise their potential. We develop skills, nurture talent, and encourage them to have a go at creative writing. We create environments where young writers can make friends, boost their confidence, try out new things, and have fun!

Our suggested donation is £25, but anything you can give will make a big difference. Thank you.
