Faber & Faber ‘Introduction to Publishing’ Day

Are you aged 16–25 and interested in finding out more about the world of publishing?
New Writing North has once again teamed up with Faber & Faber to offer a group of young people from the North East the opportunity to see behind the scenes at one of the UK’s most prestigious publishing houses on Monday 30 March 2020.
Participants will be given an exclusive copy of one of Faber’s soon-to-be-released titles and travel to London where they will meet the author and take part in workshops from various members of the Faber & Faber team to find out how the book came together.
This will be an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in working in publishing or having their work published. New Writing North is particularly interested in hearing from people who are under-represented in writing and publishing.
Food and travel by train from Newcastle to London will be provided.
Important Dates:
13 March – Deadline for applications
18 March – Successful candidates notified
24 March – Meeting at New Writing North office, Newcastle
30 March – Introduction to Publishing day at Faber & Faber offices
To get involved you must:
- Be between 16-25 at the time of application
- Be available to meet us at Newcastle station at 8am on the day of the trip (30 March 2020)
