Help us crowd fund for the Julia Darling Travel Fellowship
After Northumberland writer, Chloe Daykin, won the inaugural Julia Darling Travel Fellowship, we look to the future of the fellowship and have now set up a crowd-funding site with Just Giving to raise money. We hope that the prize will be crowd funded by those who knew Julia and appreciated her contribution to the arts.
The Julia Darling Travel Fellowship was established to mark the tenth anniversary of her death. It is inspired by Julia’s love of travel and by the appreciation that she had of writing away from home. The fellowship is worth £2,000 and is to assist a writer to undertake a period of travel, which will inform their creative work.
In our last newsletter we mentioned that we were hoping to crowd-fund for future years of the Julia Darling Travel Fellowship. Several people have contacted us because they would like to donate, but not by text message. We have now set up a JustGiving page where you can donate online at campaign.justgiving.com/charity/newwritingnorth/juliadarling. Of course, you are still welcome to donate via text by texting JULI01 plus the amount (eg JULI01 £10) to 70070.
