Hexham Cuckoos start Bronze Arts Award

An intrepid troop of young writers from Hexham have just embarked on their Bronze Arts Award with New Writing North. As well as attending the fortnightly Cuckoo writing group, over the coming months they’ll be reviewing events and interviewing authors at Hexham Book Festival, getting involved in the Festival of the North East via the Dear Angel project, and trying their hand at leading some workshops too.
Completing an Arts Award is a way for young people to receive accreditation for creative work that they do outside school and inspiring them to get more involved in the arts. New Writing North will be using creative writing and reading as a focus for the award.
