Essay Commission: Cuthbert and the Female Saints: Dr Janina Ramirez
Durham Book Festival has commissioned award-winning writer and historian Janina Ramirez to write a special piece on the female contemporaries of St Cuthbert, and the powerful – often overlooked – ways in which they contributed to history.
The essay will be available to read from Friday 13 October. Janina Ramirez will also speak about her research and latest book, Femina, on Saturday 14 October.
Dr Janina Ramirez is an Oxford lecturer, BBC broadcaster, researcher and author. She has presented and written over 30 hours of BBC history documentaries and series on TV and radio, and written five books for children and adults.
