This year’s Northern Writers’ Awards celebrated a showcase of some of the fantastic writers who have emerged from the awards throughout the years. The ceremony was recorded and streamed live at Northumbria University on Tuesday 5th July.
The Northern Writers’ Awards are the North’s flagship programme for discovering and nurturing writing talent. Founded by New Writing North in 2000 and sponsored by headline partner Northumbria University with support from Arts Council England, Channel 4, Hachette UK and many other partners, the awards have supported 360 writers from the North of England to develop their work-in-progress towards publication and broadcast.
