North East writer/director Tina Gharavi gets BAFTA nomination

We were delighted to hear this morning that Tina Gharavi, creative director of Bridge + Tunnel Productions, has been nominated for a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for the film I Am Nasrine, which New Writing North helped develop in its early stages.

I Am Nasrine, which you can read more about here, was released last year and went on to be screened across the country and internationally, with huge demand in the North East at the Tyneside Cinema.

Fingers crossed for Tina, who will learn if she’s won at the awards ceremony in February.
