We are currently recruiting a full-time Festivals and Events Intern, to be based in our Newcastle office, as well as for several freelance opportunities.
Festivals and Events Intern
10-month contract beginning March 2018
£15,926 pro rata
The Festivals & Events Intern will assist with the day-to-day administration of the Durham Book Festival, a literary festival that takes place in County Durham each October. They will also assist with other New Writing North projects, which include the Gordon Burn Prize, Read Regional and young people’s work.
This is the perfect entry-level opportunity for someone who is passionate about literature, writing and the arts and keen to gain experience working in arts administration.

Freelance opportunities on our Digital Literature programme
We are seeking several freelancers to work on the Digital Literature programme, which is part of Creative Fuse North East. The programme of training opportunities and events aims to build the digital skills and knowledge of writers in the North East, and will be launching this month.
We are now looking to engage a freelance writer who will produce digital writing toolkits for our resources, and freelance publishing/ creative industries mentors, who will work with writers on a one-to-one basis to develop their professional profile, online presence and business practice.
