Special guest Mark Benton headlines Durham Book Festival Big Read event

We’re very excited to announce that actor, musician (and Strictly Come Dancing contestant!) Mark Benton will be joining us for the Durham Book Festival Big Read event on Sunday 12 October.
Mark will be reading extracts and bringing to life The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, which children across County Durham are reading this October after Durham Book Festival made 1,000 copies available free through schools, libraries and community centres.
The book is one of several which was widely read during WWI and which are being celebrated at Palace Green Library this autumn in the Books for Boys exhibition. You can see an early edition of The Wind in the Willows at Palace Green Library at the moment.
