Alison Scurfield

Projects Manager (Young People & Communities)

Alison joined New Writing North in January 2026 as Projects Manager (Young People and Communities), having previously worked freelance across the programme. She works on a range of community and schools-based projects, managing creative delivery and output. Alison also produces First Edition, New Writing North’s 18-25s programme.

Previously Alison worked as a Bookseller and Events Co-Ordinator for Waterstones. She holds a BA in English Literature with Creative Writing and an MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University.
