Jo Hislop

Programme Manager (Young People & Communities)

Jo joined New Writing North in 2023 as Programme Manager (Young People & Communities). She works across a range of school and community situated programmes, overseeing the projects based in Newcastle. Jo previously worked across diverse cultural programmes as a freelance facilitator, producer and artist. At both Tyneside Cinema and BBC New Creatives (North) she was a project manager and film producer. With Amber Film and Photography Collective she led learning and engagement projects. Jo then initiated a reading group when working for PUBLICS in Helsinki, alongside her Masters Degree in Art and Design at Aalto University.
