Turn Up For The Books

Turn Up For The Books is a partnership project between New Writing North and English PEN, designed to give young people aged 16-25 an insight into careers within literature.
We are looking for up to 15 young people currently living in the North to participate in the programme, which will involve:
- Six online workshops from June-November 2022, focused on event planning, reviewing and developing industry-based knowledge. These will be led by diverse panels of professionals from across the publishing and literature sector, and will include practical exercises as well as real world insights.
- The opportunity to programme an exclusive in-person event for Durham Book Festival on Friday 14 October 2022
- The opportunity to review an event at Durham Book Festival 2022
- Exclusive access to all digital and live events across the Festival (13-16 October 2022)
Places are limited so please apply via this form if you are interested. The deadline for applications is midnight on Wednesday 25 May. Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday 1 June.
