Wanted: Enthusiastic person to help live literature professional during Edinburgh Fringe
The duties would be:
Approx 4pm-7.30pm, 2-8 August, helping with Poet in Residence show as required: Flyering (probably on the Royal Mile and outside the venue), ushering audience members, helping ensure stage is set up (only a mic and a stand!), staying on door duty throughout the performance, ensuring each show’s support act is there, bringing refreshments as needed, holding bucket to collect money at the end of the performance.
Sometimes flyering for 40 mins or so outside Pleasance Queendome ahead of 12.20 show (5th-8th)
Some help with putting posters up
Exit-flyering relevant shows (particularly shows you choose to go see anyway)
In return you’d get a good insight into the madness that is live literature during the Fringe, which might hopefully be useful in future.
Hard work- but with time to go see things you want to see before and after. A great reference from me. £20 expenses per day, plus return train ticket.
