Karon Alderman writes for both children and adults. Karon’s crime short story, The Millionaire’s Wife was published in Northern Crime. She received a Northern Promise Award in 2012 for her children’s novel, For Keeps. She has written four other novels for children aged 9-13, including The Story Thief, which was runner up in the 2010 Frances Lincoln Diverse Voices Fiction Award. Both these novels feature Arlie, a feisty, child asylum seeker. Karon came to Newcastle to study English and now lives and works in the city, teaching English to adults, including those from marginalised communities.
