Young people’s writing summer school in South Shields
Posted by
Do you know any keen young writers who live South of the river Tyne? In August, New Writing North will be running a three-day writing summer school in South Shields. Whether you’re a young person with a novel in their bottom drawer or would just like to try something new, it’s a chance to work with professional writers, experiment with writing styles and genre and meet other young writers in the area.
The sessions are:
Wednesday 8 August: Vampire and dystopian fiction with Amy Mackelden
Thursday 9 August: Write your own script with Carina Rodney
Friday 10 August: Comic book writing with Daniel Clifford
All sessions will run from 11am-3.30pm and will be held at South Shields Museum and Art Gallery. They are open to anyone aged 11-18 and are free to attend. Participants can sign up for one of the sessions or all three; to register, just email the name, contact details and the sessions(s) of the young person who is interested in attending to [email protected]. Sessions are for a maximum of 15 writers and if they are over-subscribed priority will be given to residents of South Shields.
