Sessions will take place in the Learning Room at South Shields Museum and Art Gallery between 11am and 1pm. It will be led by poet and micro-fiction writer Amy Mackelden and welcomes writers between the ages of 11-19. Dates for future sessions are: 2 March, 24 March and then fortnightly from 28 April.

The South Shields group is the latest addition to New Writing North’s network of young writers’ groups and joins established groups in Newcastle, Hexham and Durham. All groups offer young writers a chance to explore writing, learn new skills, give and receive feedback in a creative and supportive atmosphere and to refine their work their work for publication in Cuckoo Quarterly, the online literary magazine for young people.
