Writing From Home
New Writing North runs a year-round programme for young people and community groups, which is all about bringing people together though creative writing groups in schools, libraries and their local community centres.
When the coronavirus pandemic hit in March 2020, we encouraged people to stay in and write from home instead.
Writing can help us to make sense of the world. It can stand as a record of the strange days we lived (and are still living) through. It can heal. It can be a distraction and a pleasure. And it can take you far away, even when you’re stuck at home.
Self-led Creative Writing Workshops
We have developed free self-led creative writing workshops for young people and schools. The workshops below are suitable for students in Key Stages 3-5, please feel free to access them individually or download them and share them with your school.
