Little Read: I Am Brave Storytime

500 free books will be available in libraries around County Durham, as part of the 2024 Little Read. Young readers and their families will be able to take part in a Little Read workshop in a library near them.

I Am Brave is written by award-winning author Caryl Hart, and illustrated by Zoe Waring and is the perfect picture book to highlight and celebrate the different ways that children tackle the difficult things in life… whether it’s speaking up in class, or choosing to do something different to their friends, or struggling to make friends in the first place.

There are all sorts of ways to be brave every day in the things that we do and the things that we say. Being brave can be showy – a fierce, fiery riot – but more often it’s gentle, or loving or quiet. Let us show you some ways to be brave that we know. If you want to be brave, why not give these a go?
