West End Writes
West End Writes is a programme of creative writing activity community project in the West End of Newcastle. It is based out of our Creative Writing Hub at the John Marley Centre and includes a multilingual writing group, a development programme for women writers of colour, creative programmes for older residents and weekly drop-in activities where people can try new things and get support from New Writing North for their writing journey.
Since 2022, we have been working with local residents to co-create cultural opportunities in this area of the city. The programme is funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and we work with a number of partner organisations to run creative activity for people of all ages.
