West End Writes

West End Writes is a programme of creative writing activity in the West End of Newcastle. It is based out of our Creative Writing Hub at the John Marley Centre and includes a multilingual writing group, creative workshops for older male residents and weekly drop-in activities where people can try new things and get support from New Writing North on their writing journey.
Since 2022, we have been working with local residents to co-create cultural opportunities in this area of the city. The programme is funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and we work with a number of partner organisations to run creative activity for people of all ages.
Find out more below or contact us at [email protected] if you would like to know more.
World Writes

World Writes is a multilingual creative writing group for people aged 16+ who are non-native English speakers. Facilitated by Mymona Bibi, members are encouraged and supported to think and write creatively, whilst developing their existing English language skills and enjoying multilingualism. We welcome English speakers of all levels to express themselves in their mother tongue and explore the creative possibilities of connecting different native languages and English.
