Open call: World Writes multilingual creative exchange
Posted by
New Writing North’s World Writes group invites multilingual writers of all experience levels, based anywhere in the world, to take part in a creative language exchange project.
Through a series of online workshops, writers will engage with people around the world to celebrate language and use multilingualism in new exciting and creative ways. The theme of the workshops will be ‘cities’, and the work generated will be included in an artist publication at the end of the project.
Anyone who speaks more than one language is invited to take part. All you need is a desire to tell a story and collaborate with other writers!
Application deadline 24 January. Read the full call out and application details here.
World Writes is a writing group open to people aged 16+ who speak English as another language. It is part of New Writing North’s West End Writes programme and is based in the John Marley Centre in Newcastle. The group supports multilingual writers to create great art, decentre the English language, champion marginalised voices and build safer creative spaces for migrants, immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
