West End Writes

West End Writes is a community based programme working in the Benwell and Scotswood areas of Newcastle. We have been given significant funding by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to explore and deliver a co-creative approach to cultural development in these communities, working with local residents and key partners over the next three years.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about the work we are developing in the West End please email our West End Writes Producer at [email protected]

Brown Girls Write

Are you tired of the lack of people of colour in literature? It’s time for Brown Girls to create their own narratives and characters. Brown Girls Write is a creative writing group for all women of colour aged 16+. It is a place where women can come together to share and write, building bridges between home life and creative practice. It’s free to take part and no writing experience is necessary — just come along, have a go and meet other Brown Girl writers!
Brown Girls Write is a programme created by our Creative Associate Sharmin Islam.

No experience is necessary!
